Huge congratulations go to Dave Hughes, founder and CTO of Novosound on winning Converge Challenge 2017! Dave was presented with his prize, which includes £50,000 cash and £28,500 worth of business support, by Scotland’s First Minister at the Converge Challenge Awards Dinner in Glasgow.
Novosound aims to revolutionise the ultrasound industry by developing systems that capture ultrasound images at the quality of MRI without the cost.
“All the team at Novosound are thrilled to win this year’s Converge Challenge. The experience, expertise and support have already been invaluable and it seems like only yesterday we were learning how to pitch as part of our training. We look forward to making sure this package of support takes Novosound to the next level.” Dave Hughes, Novosound.
I have been involved with Converge Challenge for some time now; it is Scotland’s leading company creation competition and entrepreneurial development programme for staff, students and recent graduates of Scottish universities and research institutes. It has trained 180 company founders and 120 early-stage and social enterprise founders who have created 78 companies with a 43% incorporation rate. 77% of those companies have received follow-on funding totalling £60 million and have a 78% survival rate after 3 years.
