Highlands and Islands Enterprise is sponsoring 4 places on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Entrepreneur Development Programme in January 2018, a week-long, high level, intensive executive education course teaching skills for high impact entrepreneurship held in Boston.
I have been working with the 4 HIE sponsored companies who applied for the programme. My involvement has mainly focused on Skype and phone coaching – a convenient and flexible approach since they are based in Inverness, Mull, Aberdeen and Alness. I initially had two sessions with each company, focusing on their interviews to be accepted onto the programme. This consisted of a 5-minute pitch followed by 40 minutes Q&A with a panel of 3 in Inverness. We worked on the structure and content of each pitch as well as techniques for successful, confident delivery of the pitch and handling of the Q&A. The aim was to be clear, confident and relaxed throughout the interview.
I am delighted that Hydrasun, Jacobite Cruises, New Wave Foods and SWMID have been successful in gaining places onto the programme and will all be taking part in MIT EDP. I look forward to their continued success.
